Oils can be classified as refined or unrefined depending on how they are processed. Refined oils undergo additional purification, which significantly reduces the proteins responsible for allergic reactions.

For this reason, PALMER& uses refined sweet almond oil in its Baby Scalp Oil. While allergic reactions to topical sweet almond oil are rare, the refined form is considered less likely to trigger sensitivity, including for those with nut allergies.
