Frequently Asked Questions
All of our collaborations have been carefully selected due to their eco-friendly, ethical and sustainability credentials. Our brands are also conscious of their packaging methods using recycable, compostable or biodegradable methods.
All of our products are either organic or natural. We will only stock 'organic cotton' as this has a lesser impact on the world we live in. When possible we will always go that one step further and use GOTS certified cotton. This therefore ensures that the plants are grown organically & that the manufacturing process is both environmentally and socially responsible.
We will also always use products from brands that use FSC certified paper stock where possible. This ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economical benefits.
Unfortunately some materials that are needed to make an item feasible are just not there yet. For example, reusable wipes/ used nappies need to be kept in a water proof bag. The wet bags we stock do include PUL , which is basically a plastic/ rubber film laminated to fabric. But the wipes, nappies and bags last a long long time and this it where I believe this outweighs the issue of the PUL. I guess you can't have it all.
We love to hear from new brands in our bid to make an eco-conscious 'one stop shop' so please get in touch hello@sebandi.co.uk and we can discuss it further.
There are no limits to how many items you can add to your gift box. However, please note that our largest gift box is 25 cm x 25 cm.
If the number of items you have selected will not fit in our advertised gift box, please be assured that we will accommodate all items in the necessary sized box, with all the same trimmings.
You will still need to add a gift box to your basket, regardless if you think your chosen items will fit.
If you have any questions with regards to this prior to purchasing. Please get in touch at hello@sebandi.co.uk
Please get in touch via chat or email if you are after an item or ready made gift box that is showing out of stock. We will endeavour to resolve this issue or will be more than happy to suggest some alternatives.
'Bamboo fabric' is actually not as green as some people may think. It is a massive bugbear of mine as some of the claims are just incorrect. I will even go as far to say that I personally see it as 'green washing'. I'll let you make your own decision.
It is true that bamboo is a sustainable plant, it grows rapidly, needs little water, pesticides or fertilizers. But the issues comes when it's time to process the bamboo in to a textile. This is a chemical intensive procedure and the remnants are often released back in to the environment, which is extremely damaging. By the time the process has occurred, there is actually no trace of bamboo left and it becomes viscose (rayon). The antibacterial claims that are also made are equally questionable.
There is however an alternative method using the Lyocell process. This is a closed loop production method that uses fewer toxic chemicals and has very few by products. Bamboo fabric that has been made using this method is known and labelled as Monocel.
Do not let this put you totally off bamboo. Bamboo that has not been woven, such as tableware & furniture are far less chemically invasive.
