About Wee Gallery

Wee Gallery was founded in 2002 after the birth of the founders’ son sparked a deep curiosity about early childhood development.

Through studying how babies see and learn, they discovered that newborns can only focus on objects 12–15 inches away — about the distance to a parent’s face. They are naturally drawn to high-contrast black and white patterns and simple repeating geometric shapes. By around six months, babies begin recognising animal forms and later learn to name them.

With a background in graphic design, chemistry, botany and zoology, Surya — alongside Dave, a teacher — became fascinated by the idea of supporting brain development through visual play.

Wee Gallery creates simple, clever toys and sensory tools that harness this research. Each product is designed to stimulate visual development while nurturing connection between parent and child.
