About The Little Black & White Book Project

Founded by graphic designer Ruth Bradford, The Little Black & White Book Project was created to inspire the next generation of animal lovers and conservationists — from their very first days.

Research shows that newborns are naturally drawn to high-contrast black and white imagery, as it registers most stro40ngly on their developing retinas and stimulates brain growth. With this in mind, Ruth designed a collection of striking wildlife illustrations presented in simple, bold black and white.

Her mission is simple yet powerful: to introduce babies to the incredible wildlife that exists beyond their immediate surroundings and to nurture curiosity about the natural world from the very beginning.

Through beautiful design and purposeful storytelling, these books encourage early visual stimulation while planting the seeds for lifelong environmental awareness.
